Home CCTV Cameras

In today’s world, ensuring the safety and security of your home is a top priority. Home CCTV cameras offer a reliable and effective solution to monitor your property, deter potential intruders, and provide peace of mind. At Gemini Security, we specialize in advanced home CCTV camera systems designed to protect your home and loved ones with the latest technology in surveillance and monitoring.

 Home CCTV Cameras

Home CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) cameras are a network of security cameras installed around your property to monitor and record activity. These cameras transmit video footage to a specific set of monitors or devices, ensuring that the images are not publicly broadcast. This technology allows homeowners to keep a close eye on their property, both in real-time and through recorded footage, providing comprehensive surveillance.

 Benefits of Home CCTV Cameras

Investing in a home CCTV camera system from Gemini Security offers numerous advantages, ensuring comprehensive protection and peace of mind. Here are some key benefits:

Types of Home CCTV Cameras Offered by Gemini Security

 Types of CCTV Cameras

Gemini Security provides a variety of home CCTV cameras to meet the diverse needs of different homes and security requirements. Here are some types of systems we offer:

Analogue HD:

Our analogue HD cameras offer a wide range of benefits, and we have a wide range of high-quality HD-SDI cameras, recorders and accessories available. These unite the high-quality images of IP with the point-to-point configuration of analogue systems. Similar to your HD TV at home, HD-STI can offer impeccable picture quality for your CCTV system, giving 720p and 1080p resolution in real time (25fps). This broadcast quality does not have bandwidth issues since it is connected directly to the DVR from point to point.

IP Camera:

Internet protocol cameras are like little computers that you connect to to access your video, and as such, you do not require a direct connection to a PC to operate, meaning they can be placed anywhere within a network and accessed remotely at any time. In contrast to Analouge cameras, an IP camera excels in capturing high definition, megapixel images as captured data is digitised directly from the sensor, and because of their increased computing power, they can perform more advanced functions such as detecting motion to trigger recording or tampering and act on it by emailing, uploading, or recording images or video to an internal storage card external storage device.

 CCTV Maintenance

As the term implies, CCTV preventative maintenance involves regularly testing the functionality of CCTV surveillance equipment to reduce the probability of a malfunction or failure. Maintaining systems regularly will ensure CCTV systems are working to their optimum performance and that images recorded and stored are fit for purpose, and are of evidence quality and could be used as admissible evidence for purposes of investigation or for use in courts of law. Preventative maintenance is an essential part of ensuring continuous surveillance and helps to deter break-ins, theft and the overall security of the area(s) being monitored. To avoid any lapses in surveillance monitoring, CCTV system maintenance is usually carried out whilst all devices are still in operation.

Our standard service care package is based upon a 4-camera system and includes 2 service visits per year (one in the spring & one in the Autumn), all cameras will be cleaned and adjusted as required. Where additional cameras are installed, these will be added to the service agreement at additional cost.

During the service visit our Engineers will:

  • Verify that the number and type of cameras installed, as well as lenses, correspond with records held by the client.
  • Act on any previous notifications or issues reported by the business.
  • The camera checking component of the security system maintenance checklist should include comprehensive cleaning of the lenses and housings.
  • Once the camera is properly cleaned, as well as the area of the premises they view is not obstructed, then the next step is to check the audio and recording equipment.
  • If there are any external cameras, ensure that any plants, trees or shrubbery do not impede the view, recording or any other function of the CCTV camera

Most insurance companies will insist on this as a condition of the insurance, and the service will require the growth to be regularly cut back.

  • Check that all cables are properly mounted or supported by the correct conduit, and that the insulating plastic is showing no sign of wear and tear.
  • Check that all indicator lights and pre-sets are functioning correctly
  • Verify that all warning labels and notifications are present and clearly visible. This also applies to a full connection check of all components in the CCTV circuits.
  • Check that all fixtures and fittings that ensure the CCTV itself is properly supported are in place. This examination should include looking for signs of physical damage and any form of chemical corrosion. Any damage should be repaired as soon as possible. Many business owners check that such repair work is possible within the terms of their maintenance contract.
