Having a security system is a great idea for protecting your home, but what's also important is that it keeps working as intended.

Why Security System Maintenance is Important

Having a security system is an amazing opportunity to add an extra layer of protection to your home and keep your loved ones and assets safe, but what's the point of having a security system if it doesn't work as intended? That's why maintaining your security system is also an important part of having a security system. Each system has its own unique needs and system requirements, but one thing is for sure and that is that it needs to be looked after. So, whether you have an intruder alarm system or a CCTV system, make sure to keep them maintained for optimal performance.

What Security Systems do We Maintain?

Here at Gemini Security Solutions, we offer a wide range of security installation services, and we also offer the same amount of maintenance. Each one has around three packages, so you can choose the level of services that you get. After all, prevention is better than a cure.

Intruder Alarm System Maintenance:

It's crucial to ensure that your intruder alarm is maintained on a regular basis to guarantee that it will operate correctly at all times. If you're receiving a discount from your insurers for having an approved alarm fitted, then they will expect it to be maintained by an approved installer to ensure that the alarm is fully operational.

We take the maintenance of alarms very seriously. With this in mind, we offer 3 levels of maintenance: Bronze, Silver, and Gold, each providing different levels of cover.

Bronze Maintenance

Our bronze package includes a system onsite inspection & diagnostics checks, plus one emergency call out and telephone support during the maintenance period.

Silver Maintenance

Our silver package includes a system onsite inspection & diagnostics checks, plus unlimited emergency call outs and telephone support during the maintenance period. This package also includes the replacement of sounders and any faulty detection devices, including Door contacts, shock sensors, movement sensors, and glass break detectors.

Gold Maintenance

Our gold package includes one system onsite inspection & diagnostic checks, plus 1 six-month On-Line diagnostic check (where a suitable modem is installed). This also includes unlimited emergency call-outs and full parts (exclusions apply), and labour and telephone support during the maintenance period.

CCTV Maintenance:

Our CCTV maintenance involves regularly testing the functionality of CCTV surveillance equipment to reduce the probability of a malfunction or failure. Maintaining the systems regularly ensures that the CCTV systems are working to their optimum performance and that images recorded and stored are fit for purpose, and are of evidence quality and could be used as evidence for purposes of investigation or for use in courts of law.

We offer totally flexible CCTV maintenance services, which ensure that your CCTV system is kept in optimum condition. Our standard service care package is based upon a 4-camera system and includes 2 service visits per year (one in the spring and one in the autumn), all cameras will be cleaned and adjusted as required.

During the Service Visit, our engineers will:

  • Verify that the number and type of cameras installed, as well as lenses, correspond with records held by the client.
  • Act on any previous notifications or issues reported by the business
  • The camera checking component of the security system maintenance checklist should include comprehensive cleaning of the lenses and housings.
  • If there are any external cameras, ensure that any plants, trees or shrubbery do not impede the view, recording or any other function of the CCTV camera.
  • Check that all cables are properly mounted or supported by the correct conduit, and that the insulating plastic is showing no sign of wear and tear.
